As a child, my family would spend their summers vacationing at my grandparents' cottage on Michigan's beautiful Higgins Lake. My fondest summer memories are those of my brothers, sister and I joining my grandfather on the pebble-rich shore to learn the art of skipping stones. He taught us that the secret was finding that elusive stone that was so perfectly flat and smooth that it would skip over the water's surface with perfect ease.

These memories are what inspired me to create The Skipping Stone catalog. I equate finding the perfect skipping stone with tracking down the perfect gift... a gift that friends and family will truly appreciate.
